ISoftBet acquired by IGT
IGT takes over Isoftbet to increase game portfolio
The gaming company IGT has made a big deal and taken over the gaming provider iSoftBet for 160 million euros. International Game Technology (IGT) is based in the United States and has already confirmed the acquisition to its shareholders. The takeover aims to increase the range of games on offer. The number of games on offer rose overnight to 225 games, doubling the number of games on offer.
IGT Redevelopment
IGT recently published its annual figures for 2021. The company recorded a net profit of 950 million dollars over the past year and will use the profits for the company’s redevelopment. The first step has now officially been taken with the takeover of iSoftBet. IGT will also distribute the acquired developer’s games to other parties, and the company will use the promotional tools to put itself on the map.
The acquisition came as somewhat of a surprise, as the company was last involved in an acquisition in 2014. In 2014, IGT acquired the gaming company Probability Inc, a company engaged in games for smartphones and tablets. However, Vince Sadusky, CEO of IGT, welcomed the acquisition of iSoftBet. “The acquisition of iSoftBet will bring proven online productions, advanced game aggregation capabilities, scalable promotional tools, analytics tools, and strong creative talent to IGT. Among other things, this will improve our competitive position in Europe and North America.”
International Game Technology (IGT)
US gaming company International Game Technology (IGT) has been in existence since 1975. The developer’s headquarters are in Las Vegas. The company is known for its physical slot machines and gaming mechanisms. However, IGT was acquired by Gtech in 2015, and since then, the focus has been more on offering online casino games. Players can therefore find IGT’s games in the land-based casino’s game selection.
